Matt Toups from the local New Orleans chapter of the OpenStreetMap project
will present this Tuesday evening, 8 December, at 6:30pm.
OpenStreetMap (OSM) is an open source map of the world that is freely
available online. You can contribute to the map by adding in your favorite
places, as well as download the map data and create your own local map.
There are over 150,000 OpenStreetMap participants worldwide.
You can help! Join us in creating the best, most up to date map of New
Orleans (and the world), at http://www.openstreetmap.org
Web developers, consider OSM as a map data source for your web projects.
GIS pros and map fans, start editing the map immediately -- everything is
editable in "the free wiki world map", it is like the Wikipedia of map data.
