Benefitting the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program
A special dance party for kids and their parents at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art to celebrate our beautiful Gulf, its beaches, wonderful sea life and everything it means to us—with special musical guest Susan Cowsill, of the legendary Cowsill family band – the real-life "Partridges"!
Come dance your heart out and show how much you love the Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Dress as your favorite Gulf creature—land, air, or sea. Or just wear your bathing suit.
Admission is the donation of an original piece of artwork by your child. Please work on 8 1/2" by 11" paper – the rest is up to your imagination.
If you've wondered what you can do to help: The Museum will be displaying and selling the artwork at the Playdate and at the next Ogden After Hours on July 1, 2010, with all proceeds going to the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program. If you're old enough to hold a crayon or a brush, you're old enough to help.
A program of the Kohlmeyer Circle, a group of young arts and cultural enthusiasts that supports the Museum, Ogden Playdate is a series of one-of-a-kind experiences for parents to share with their children. The first Playdate was June 5 at Alex Beard Studio in the French Quarter. The Ogden Playdate is possible through a generous donation from Phelps Dunbar, LLC.
FREE and open to the public. The Museum will have milk and homemade cookies for the kids and a specialty cocktail for the grown-ups.
