BESE board members heard from a standing room only crowd of educators, parents, students and members of the community regarding the current transition plan for New Orleans public schools. Fire marshalls were actually forced to turn some 200 people away from the hearing, which was required by state law to be held so the board could receive input from the community before its final vote on the decision, set to take place in New Orleans on December 9.
