Plaquemines Parish issues drinking water advisory due to salt wedge | WDSU

Officials in Plaquemines Parish issued a drinking water advisory due to higher levels of sodium and chloride from the salt water wedge moving up the Mississippi River.
The Environmental Protection Agency said chloride is not a threat, but it could affect the taste, odor and color of the water.
