Artist George Rodrigue, known for his paintings of a beseeching, yellow-eyed blue dog is recovering from months of cancer treatment. Rodrigue said that while preparing for surgery to eliminate back pain, doctors discovered that he suffered from a rare form of lung cancer that had spread to other parts of his body.
