Commuters heading south toward Metairie and New Orleans may have noticed a construction crane and workmen on the eastern side of the toll booth of the Causeway.
The construction has begun for a fifth toll lane that will help make the southside commute on the Causeway a little faster. Also planned is an updated toll collected system that will allow for more rapid passage through the booths with fewer cross reads and other errors.
