2 shot in Upper 9th Ward: NOPD

Two people were shot Friday evening (March 29) at the intersection of Congress and N. Prieur streets, New Orleans police reported.

Police had blocked off the intersection of Congress and North Prieur streets.

Witnesses at the scene said they heard roughly 10 gunshots and then saw a dark-colored SUV driving away on North Prieur Street at a “very fast” speed.

Police swarmed a vehicle nearby on N. Clairborne Avenue.
