A man was shot in the leg Wednesday afternoon (April 17) on South Broad Street, an EMS spokesman said.
The man, who was about 51 years old, was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, said spokesman Jonathan Fourcade. EMS responded to the scene in the 200 block of South Broad Street (map) just after 2:30 p.m., he said.
At the scene, a group of men stood outside a barber shop in the block as police investigated inside. NOPD confirmed a medical call in the same block, but did not confirm a shooting.
Additional details, including what led up to the gunfire, were not immediately available.
