Police looking for 43-year-old man in connection to fatal shooting of woman in Pines Village

New Orleans police are looking for a 43-year-old man in connection to Thursday’s (April 18) homicide in New Orleans East’s Pines Village neighborhood.

Alfred Simmons is wanted for second-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of a woman in the 5000 block of Dwyer Road, police said. When police arrived on the scene around 8:40 p.m., they found a woman in the middle of the road suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Simmons was last seen driving a black car, police said.
