The juice and coffee shop closed March 28
After a short-lived expansion Uptown and a staff walk-out last year, Warehouse District coffee shop and juice bar Pulp and Grind is closed.
A tipster alerted Eater to a note posted on the cafe’s door telling customers its last day was March 28, accompanied by the brown paper of doom covering the shop’s windows.
Pulp and Grind, part of the hipster magnet Satsuma empire, opened on the corner of Camp and Girod Streets in 2015, serving house-baked pastries, local coffee and cold-pressed organic juices. Owners Cassi and Peter Dymond expanded their second brand to Magazine Street Uptown in 2017, a move that only lasted a few months.
Pulp and Grind had to abruptly close for a week last summer after a staff revolt stemming from the firing of the cafe’s manager and part-owner, amid dueling accusations of theft and mistreatment. This closure, however, does not appear temporary.
Messages to the owners have not yet been returned, but Eater will update if we hear back.
