A 15-year-old boy has been booked in a Seabrook area shooting that injured two other 15-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man, New Orleans police said Monday (May 13).
The triple shooting occurred about 4:45 p.m. April 24, when a vehicle approached a group of teens walking in the 6700 block of Wales Street and someone inside opened fire. Two of the wounded teens were taken to a local hospital by ambulance, while a third victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle, police said.
The 15-year-old suspect, who had been arrested April 26 in a separate aggravated assault, was rebooked Wednesday in the Wales Street shooting, which occurred near a school.
He is accused of three counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm in a firearm-free zone and being a juvenile in possession of a firearm.
Anyone with additional information on the triple shooting is asked to call NOPD 7th District detectives at 504-658-6070 or submit an anonymous tip to Crimestoppers by calling 504-822-1111.
