Four people were wounded in a pair of shootings Wednesday night (May 15) in the St. Rose area of St. Charles Parish, according to parish authorities.
Investigators believe the two shootings, which occurred shortly after 6 p.m., are connected, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The gunfire occurred about a half-mile apart, in the 400 block of Turtle Creek Lane (map) and in the 100 block of St. Rose Avenue (map).
Three of those wounded were taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans, while the fourth was taken to Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner.
The Sheriff’s Office noted that despite the large police presence in the area, there was no perceived threat to the public Wednesday night.
Investigators did not provide further details on the victims or their injuries or indicate whether any motives or suspects had been established.
Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call Detective Jenni Barrette of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-6807.
