Woman, baby injured in Dwyer Road shooting: NOPD

A woman and a 1-year-old girl were injured early Wednesday (May 8) in a shooting on Dwyer Road in New Orleans East, police said.

The shooting was reported to the New Orleans Police Department at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 6500 block of Dwyer Road near Interstate 10 (map).

According to preliminary information, the family was inside their home when they heard gunfire. A 41-year-old woman was shot in the leg and a 1-year-old girl was shot in the foot. They went to a hospital for treatment, and their conditions were not available Wednesday morning.
