Man shot in leg in Pines Village, NOPD says

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting Saturday morning (June 22) in the Pines Village area of New Orleans East.

A man was shot in the leg and arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle at about 11:40 a.m., police said. The shooting is believed to have occurred near Chef Menteur Highway and Downman Road.

No additional details were immediately available.
