A weak area of low pressure in the Gulf is unlikely to develop into anything tropical. There is dry air and strong winds aloft causing problems for the system. The old frontal boundary will drift north and increase our rain chances as we go into the weekend. Highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90.
The Mississippi River is at 15.39 feet. It has been over 15 feet for 165 days. The Spillway has been open the 2nd time for 76 days. That's the longest opening ever. Last long opening was 74 days in 1973. 48 bays closed today on the Spillway. 94 bays remain open.
