An upper low in the Gulf will move north increasing our rain chances this weekend. There is a lot of dry air in the Gulf impacting the system. Right now The Weather Prediction Center is indicating a slight to marginal risk excessive rainfall. I really just see off and on rain and showers Saturday. Not a wash out. Looks like the heaviest rain may be Sunday. This will be something to monitor.
Chantal is now a remnant low.
90% chance tropical development for an area of low pressure along the Southeast Coast of Florida. It will move north, and then Northeast staying off the Mid Atlantic Coast. It will likely become a depression this weekend. A recon flight is scheduled to investigate it Saturday if necessary. Water temperatures along the coast of Florida are in the mid 80s. That is the fuel for development.
70% chance tropical development for an area of low pressure 1100 miles ESE of the Windward Islands. This system is better organized. It is moving over warm water, but there is dry air to the North of the low and on the forecast path. The GFS model takes the low forecast into the Caribbean late Wednesday into Thursday. Will keep you posted.
