Watching the tropics. Tropical Storm Jerry is 300 miles SW of Bermuda. Tropical Storm Warnings posted for Bermuda.
Lorenzo is a well organized large storm. It is forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday night, and it is eventually forecast to become a major hurricane. Looks like it will be a fish storm staying out to sea.
Karen is a tropical depression dealing with strong wind shear. Winds aloft NNE at 20 knots. There is also dry air impacting the system. Tropical storm warnings are posted for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. They will deal with wind and rain. The system is forecast to intensify once it moves North of the Islands. High pressure may eventually build north of Karen, and help turn it west towards the lower coast of Florida. This will be one to monitor. It's interesting. The last Karen in 2013 died of dry air and wind shear in the Gulf of Mexico, and never hit land as a tropical system.
