LGD Wine Bar the Tasting Room Is Back With New Owners and a New Look - [Eater New Orleans - All]

There’s even a neon word sign and Chambongs

The fate of LGD wine bar The Tasting Room was unclear when its founders closed up shop and moved to California last spring, but it’s now reopened with a new owner, a revamped look, and a whole bunch of specials.

Local contractor Christopher Jones told Eater he purchased the business from Toby and Lisa DeVore and brought on Orlando Harris to serve as executive chef. On the new menu is a reasonably priced signature arugula and gorgonzola salad ($7), a fingerling potato dish with pesto, Parmesan, and pine nuts, fried gorgonzola stuffed olives, and of course, charcuterie and cheese boards.

The renovated interior, which already looks to be a hit with the bachelorette parties that frequent photo-friendly Magazine Street, is full of sleek restaurant design trends. The renovation kept the lovely brick walls, one of which now features a requisite pink neon word sign that reads, “If you will, I will.” A shiny black ceiling matches the dining room seating, which includes black leather couches and shiny black stools set against the white marble-topped tables and bar.

The Tasting Room is open daily, from 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday (later on Friday), noon ‘til late Saturday, and noon to midnight Sunday. A happy hour that runs 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday offers house wine and meat and cheese boards for $5; Wednesday is half-off bottles of wine under $100, and Thursday is a thing we’re still doing, “Ladies Night.” A weekend brunch, featuring smoked salmon, French toast, and Chambongs, runs from noon to 3 p.m.

The Tasting Room, 1906 Magazine Street, is having a grand opening party this Saturday, September 21, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
