Disorganized rain and storms are over SE Mexico, Bay of Campeche and Guatemala. This area of rain is forecast to move into Bay of Campeche late Wednesday. Some gradual development possible over the West Gulf of Mexico.
Global forecast models do not agree on where and how much the system will develop. The Global Forecast Model shows low pressure south of Louisiana Friday with heavy rain potential especially close to the coast and increasing east winds along the coast. The low and heavy rain move east towards Florida early Saturday.
The European model shows low pressure along the coast of Mexico south of Veracruz early Friday. Rain off the south Louisiana Coast. Rain increases along the SW coast of Louisiana Friday night. Strong east winds increase Friday night and Saturday along the SE Coast of Louisiana and South Mississippi. Coastal Flood Potential. Low pressure moves onshore near Marsh Island Saturday afternoon with rain and winds out of south increasing over Southeast Louisiana and Mississippi. The rain moves out by early Sunday with the low moving into NE Mississippi.
A strong cold front will move through Monday with increasing rain chances. Skies clear, winds NW Tuesday morning with cooler temperatures.
