Kolache Kitchen owner Will Edwards opened the first New Orleans outpost of the bakery in January 2019 on Freret Street, near Tulane and Loyola universities. It was the third Louisiana location for Edwards, who opened the first Kitchen in Baton Rouge at the beginning of 2013.
The bakery’s newest restaurant will be in the EZ Park building in the CBD, at 310 Carondelet Street. Like the Uptown location, it will serve sweet and savory kolaches, breakfast and lunch tacos, and a Cuban-like sandwich (among a few others), but will add a few healthier options that utilize egg whites and more vegetables.
Also open for only breakfast and lunch, Edwards told Business Report that the location will serve as a grab-and-go spot catering to office workers in the surrounding neighborhood.
Edwards expects the CBD location of Kolache Kitchen to open at the end of 2019 or in early 2020.
