Budsi’s Authentic Thai will open a restaurant on N. Rampart Street this spring
The husband and wife team behind Budsi’s Authentic Thai, one of New Orleans’s hottest pop-ups, will open a Marigny restaurant this spring, reports Gambit’s Rebecca Friedman.
Budsaba Mason has been bringing two different Thai menus — one traditional, one a bit more experimental — to Pal’s Lounge three days a week for the last three years, building a loyal following at the Mid City neighborhood bar. The new restaurant at the corner of N. Rampart and St. Anthony Streets in Faubourg Marigny will serve most of those menu items with Friedman reporting Budsaba will also incorporate specialties from the Isan region of Thailand, where she’s from, including dishes like fermented fish and crab som tam.
The couple expects to open at 1760 N. Rampart St. by the end of April this year, serving lunch and dinner six days a week. Gambit reports Budsi’s will continue its schedule at Pal’s until the restaurant opens.
