Mississippi River is at 16.5 feet and rising. It is forecast to crest at 16.9 feet Wednesday, March 4th. Right now there are 19 minor seepage points. Flood stage is 17 feet. The Levees protect the Metro to 20 feet and even higher in some places. The river is forecast to begin falling March 8th. The flow past the Metro is forecast to reach 1.25 million cubic feet per second. Since the River is forecast to fall, the Corps of Engineers is not considering opening the Spillway at this time.
The Pearl River at Bogalusa has crested and is falling. Now at 22.17 feet.
The Pearl River at Pearl River now 18.23 feet and is cresting. It is forecast to begin falling Saturday. Moderate flooding of River Gardens happens at this height, along with homes being threatened at Magnolia Forest. Access roads are also flooded, and it is difficult to see roads.
