Marine Dense Fog Advisory [ Local Stories]

Mississippi River now at 16.78 feet. Flood stage is 17 feet. The Metro is protected by levees of 20 feet and a little higher. The forecast crest is 16.9 feet late Wednesday into Sunday. A fall is forecast after Sunday. The Corps of Engineers is conducting daily inspections of the levees. There are 25 minor seepage points. The Spillway is not going to open with this high water event.

The Pearl River is falling, but may get a slight bump with additional rain forecast through early Thursday.

Some showers will linger early Thursday, but then the skies clear out. It will be breezy and cooler. Sunny skies forecast Friday and Saturday with only some cloudiness moving into the area Sunday. Cool temps forecast early Friday and Saturday. Lows Friday will mostly be in the 40s with highs in the mid 60s. It will be a little cooler Saturday morning. Lows will drop into the mid 30s to mid 40s. Highs will be in the low 60s.
