From po-boys to oysters Rockefeller, these essential NOLA lunch destinations are still open for takeout or delivery
New Orleans is known as a classic lunch town, whether it be an indulgent, booze-filled Friday meal or a po-boy from one of the countless corner shops that have served the city’s workers for decades. Now, with New Orleans’s (and more recently, Louisiana’s) stay-at-home order due to the coronavirus pandemic, the joy of communal lunches may be on hold, but that’s no reason not to seek some comfort in your favorite NOLA lunch.
While some of our favorite lunchtime destinations like Domilise’s, Commander’s Palace (as of Monday, March 23), and Parkway Bakery are temporarily closed, plenty of the city’s lunch institutions remain open for pickup and delivery. So make the most of your midday break and indulge in one of the city’s finest lunches.
Did we miss your favorite lunch restaurant still open for takeout or delivery? Let us know.
