Tornado hit Mandeville last night at 10:10 pm. It was an EF-1. Winds 100 mph. On the ground for 3.1 miles. 1/4 mile wide. There was extensive tree damage. That is always a concern in Mandeville where there are a lot of beautiful trees. If you have trees near your home, it's a good time to trim them in preparation for Hurricane Season.
There was a tornado watch in effect last night. A severe t-storm warning was posted for the storm that caused the tornado. The Severe T-Storm Warning also included the language of possible tornado.
There was also a tornado in Walthall County, MS. That is the same county that had the EF-4 tornado last Sunday. The tornado was at 7:09 pm. It was an EF-1. Winds 110 mph. 2.6 miles long. 500 yards wide. There was significant tree damage and minor home damage.
