There is a marginal risk severe storms late Wednesday into Thursday morning. The concern looks to be damaging winds in storms.
An EF-1 tornado touched down Sunday night at 10:13 pm in Mandeville. Winds were 100 mph. It was on the ground for 3.1 miles. 300 yards wide. There was extensive tree damage. A few very large hardwood trees that were about 4 feet thick were snapped at the base. Some trees did fall on homes and caused damage.
The Mississippi River is now at 17.11 feet. It is forecast to drop below 17 feet April 25th. 80 Bays remain open on the Spillway. Some more bays may begin closing next week.
