We've had tropical development early over the past five years. This year looks to be no exception. Hurricane season officially begins June first and goes through November 30th. The most active time periods are late August, September into October. Now we have a 10% chance tropical development within 48 hours and a 70% chance in 3-5 days. The area we are watching is a stalled front South of Key West. A spin may develop there and move Northeast. A subtropical depression or storm may form near the Bahamas to a couple of hundred miles North of the Bahamas. The system is forecast to move NE in the West Atlantic. If a storm does form, the name would be Arthur.
