Saharan dust is moving into the Atlantic, will cross the Atlantic and move into the Gulf next week. We do like Saharan Dust in the tropical Atlantic. It is a warm dry layer. Tropical systems like moist rising air over warm water. The Saharan Dust will move our way Wednesday or Thursday and will linger. The dust makes for incredible sunrises and sunsets. It is also an issue for people who have breathing problems. Air quality alerts may be issued Thursday. This will be something to monitor.
