Gonzalo is stronger. Max winds now 60 mph. It is about 1000 miles East of the Southern Windward Islands moving W 12 mph. Gonzalo is forecast to become a hurricane Thursday. It is moving over warm water in the Atlantic with water temperatures in the low 80s. Hurricane Watch is posted for Barbados. The forecast track takes Gonzalo into the Caribbean. Dry air and strong winds aloft will impact the system, and it is forecast to diminish in intensity and become a tropical storm.
