The tropical wave forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday will encounter warm water. Water temps are in the mid to upper 80s. There is an upper low over West Cuba causing some wind shear over the system. There are strong winds aloft over the East Gulf and some dry air. There are weak winds over the Central Gulf. That is where some development could occur and will have to be monitored. If anything a depression might form or a weak storm, but it will stay to our South. It will move towards the East coast of Texas and make landfall Friday. Our rain chances will increase Thursday and Friday with the greater rain chance along the coast. European and GFS Forecast models keep rainfall to just over an inch closer to the coast. Wind looks to rise to about 15-25 knots along the coast. Will keep you posted
