The NHC wants to be able to issue warnings, that is why it is named. This evening the broad low is 340 miles SE of the Leeward Islands. Max winds 40 mph. Moving WNW 25 mph.
The name will be Isaias when it becomes a storm. It will be the earliest "I" storm ever. The previous was Irene August 8, 2005. So far this year there have been many firsts. We've had 8 tropical storms earlier than any other season. Christobal, Edouard, Fay, Gonzalo & Hanna have all been the earliest storms for their letter of the alphabet.
