Flash flood watch is posted for most of Southeast Louisiana through Wednesday at 7pm. An additional 2-4 inches of rain is possible. A coastal flood warning is posted through Noon Tuesday for a 2-4 foot rise along the coast because of persistent onshore flow. Winds gusted Monday to 51 mph at Port Fourchon. The wind is pushing water onshore. A coastal flood advisory will continue in effect after the warning expires. Just be aware that there will be a slow fall in the water.
Fall arrives at 8:30 Tuesday morning. The average low is 71 and the average high is 86. We have been running much lower than that recently because of persistent rain and cloud cover. Rain chances go down Friday into the weekend, and that means it will be warmer with highs in the mid 80s. A cold front moves through late Sunday and early Monday with some cooler weather on the way.
