Less rain Thursday [ Local Stories]

There are two tropical storms in the Atlantic. Paulette is now forecast to become a hurricane and move towards Bermuda Monday. Rene is dealing with wind shear, but that shear is forecast to diminish. Rene is still forecast to become a hurricane. It is also forecast to move North in the Atlantic.

We are also watching a tropical wave moving off the Coast of Africa into the Atlantic. There is a 90% chance for tropical development. Forecast models indicate that it will likely become a storm. The next name up is Sally. Behind this system there is another tropical wave that will move off the Coast of Africa. It has a 20% chance tropical development. A small area of low pressure near the NC coast has a 20% chance tropical development, but it will move onshore Thursday. There is a 20% chance tropical development for a disorganized area of rain NE of the Bahamas that is forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Morning lows drop into the low 70s to near 80. Mostly sunny skies forecast Thursday. Highs will mostly be in the low 90s with a few mid 90s possible. Slight rain chance. Rain chances begin to increase Friday with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Watching tropical moisture increase into the first of next week.
