Hurricane force winds extend out 25 miles. Tropical force winds extend out 125 miles. Weak steering currents. Forecast models keep shifting East. The worst weather is on the East side, but where it makes landfall expect high storm surge. Forward motion of storm will also cause a rise in water. When you look at forecast track, remember the hurricane is not a point on the map. It is big, and impacts will extend well outside of the cone. The cone only shows where the center goes 2/3 of the time, and 1/3 of the time it is outside of the cone. Both the GFS Model and Euro Model are not showing Sally making a slow landfall East of the Mouth of the River.
