There is now a 60% chance tropical development in the West Caribbean. A tropical wave is moving West and will move into warm water. Water temperatures are running in the upper 80s. A cold front will be stalled over the South Gulf into the North Caribbean. A broad low is forecast to develop, and possibly a depression by this weekend. The GFS Model shows a tropical system moving onshore in the Yucatan Peninsula, and eventually into the Southwest Gulf. It also shows the potential for another system to develop behind it near the Yucatan Channel. The tropics are waking up again.
