Rainbands look to move onshore in the early morning. They will be fast movers moving from the Coast to the Northshore. Expect strong gusty winds in the rain. A larger rain shield moves onshore by Noon and heads inland. Heaviest rain looks to move onshore 3pm through 7pm. It will be non-stop through 8pm on the South Shore, and close to 10 pm on the North Shore. It looks like the East portion of the North Shore will get the heavier rain. South Mississippi looks like non-stop rain from 2pm through almost 11pm. Models vary on wind gusts and timing. GFS Model has tropical force winds by noon along the coast. Hurricane force by 4pm along the Coast with wind gusts of up to 111 mph. 4:30 pm Metro wind gusts are 54 mph, but 70 mph by 7:30 pm. 88 mph along the Mississippi Coast at 7:30 pm.
Storm surge is forecast at 5-8 feet along the Mississippi Coast, 4-7 feet from Port Fourchon to the Mouth of the Pearl River and 2-4 feet in area lakes.
Stay weather aware. Zeta appears to be speeding up, and is forecast to be a hurricane at landfall. Forecast models consistently have landfall over Southeast Louisiana with the storm them moving into South Mississippi.
