Eta is North of the West tip of Cuba. It is moving SW 16 mph. High pressure off the East Coast is helping to steer Eta to the west and an upper low over Cuba is helping to send SW. Eta is over warm water in the upper 80s. It may briefly intensify. It appears as though there is a burst of convection at the core. Dry air and strong winds aloft will likely eventually knock it down. Eta may not move onshore until Saturday. The North Gulf is a possibility, but it will be a diminished system. It may be a depression. This will be something to monitor.
