Models are not clear cut on the severe issue Thursday. Officially there is a slight chance for severe weather including isolated tornadoes and damaging winds. Looks like there is the potential for storms to develop ahead of a squall line Thursday night. The timing looks to be 9 pm to about 2 am Friday with the line moving from the West to the East. The NAM model shows that scenario, and the GFS and Euro show the potential for that to happen. Once the front moves through, the rain moves out. There are some indications that South Mississippi into Alabama may have stronger storms. Be aware that Mother Nature will provide some fireworks Thursday night that will likely wreak havoc on other fireworks displays. It appears that 2020 wants to continue to cause problems until the last minute of the year. The weather does improve for Friday into the weekend. Do expect some clouds Friday, but more sunshine over the weekend with cooler weather.
