New Orleans has seen exponential growth in the last several years when it comes to coffee. While coffee-geek shops focused on quality and third wave (ie. tree-to-cup) programs have become ragingly popular here, there are still many coffee shops that throwback to an earlier era when college students, writers, and neighborhood characters ruled the scene.
This map covers all the best local spots, whether you're in dire need of some cold brew, a frozen coffee, a pour-over, a cafe au lait, or just a cup of joe and some quiet time with some free Wi-Fi on a comfy couch. For this update, we said goodbye to currently closed, kid-friendly Cafe au Play, and welcomed the French Quarter’s cheeky Arrow Cafe, Fat Boy Pantry in the LGD, the new Mid City location of Revelator Coffee Company, and neighborhood gem Treme Coffeehouse.
These are the tried and true spots that any local would recommend, with a little something from every neck of the woods.
