The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected in a shooting that left another man injured in Harvey Friday evening (April 26).

Detectives obtained images of an alleged suspect from nearby surveillance cameras, according to Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the department.

The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. near the intersection of Deerpark Drive and Woodmere Boulevard, authorities said.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. After “several surgeries,” Rivarde said the man was in stable condition Monday.

The images of the suspect were recorded as he approached the victim in the case, Rivarde said. JPSO did not release any details about a possible motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office investigations bureau at 504.364.5300. The public can also call Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111 or toll-free at 877.903.7867. Callers do not have to give their names or testify and can earn a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an indictment.
