Person found shot in Central City, New Orleans police say

A person was found shot Tuesday morning in Central City, New Orleans police said.

The shooting was reported about 11:15 a.m., and police found the wounded male near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Baronne Street. The person had a a gunshot wound to the side and was taken by EMS to a hospital, NOPD spokesman Gary Scheets said.

It was not immediately clear where the shooting actually took place.

No other information was immediately available.
