The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in a Terrytown holdup that left one person wounded by gunfire.

Patrick Broglin, 20, of Terrytown, was booked Friday (May 3) with attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery, illegal use of a weapon, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of tramadol, arrest reports said.

Broglin is accused in a shooting that occurred just after 5 p.m. on April 16 at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Faith Place in Terrytown, authorities said.

A deputy patrolling the area stopped his car when he saw about 10 men sprint from a breezeway in the apartment complex. One of the men stopped behind the deputy’s vehicle, staggered to the driver’s side door and told the deputy he’d been shot before collapsing, authorities said.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound on the right side of his neck, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The man could not identify the shooter.

He was taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans where he was rushed into surgery, authorities said. His condition was not available Tuesday (May 7).

No details are available about how detectives identified Broglin as a suspect in the case or what he is accused of doing under the obstruction charge.

Broglin was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna where he was still being held Tuesday in lieu of a $510,500 bond.
