The Mississippi River is Rising. This evening up to 14.49 feet. Forecast to be at 16.5 feet by March 2nd. That is up 2 feet in two weeks. It is not at this point forecast to reach the trigger to open the Spillway. The River will reach phase 2 by Thursday. That requires daily inspections of the levee.
The Pearl River at Bogalusa is at 21.03 feet. Forecast to crest at moderate flood Monday at 22.5 feet.
The Pearl River at Pearl River is at 16.54 feet. Forecast to be at Major flood by Tuesday evening at 19 feet.
Sunny and chilly Friday. Temperatures will be dropping into the 40s Friday night with clear skies. Bundle up! Cold Saturday morning with some freezing temperatures possible on the Northshore. Increasing clouds Sunday with highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Rain chances develop late.
