Watching the tropics. Now there is a 50% chance for tropical development in the West Caribbean. The NHC says there is the potential for a broad low to develop and begin to move NW in the West Caribbean towards the Yucatan Peninsula. The GFS Model shows the potential for a depression to develop Friday morning East of Belize. It moves towards and possibly onshore on the Yucatan Peninsula Saturday afternoon. It then moves towards the South Central Gulf Sunday, but appears to move back inland, then West towards the SW Gulf. This is simply something to monitor at this time. Water temperatures in the Gulf are not as hot as they were earlier in the Season due to all the Tropical Activity we have had, but they are warm.
