One man was killed and two more people were injured in an overnight shooting in Jefferson, authorities said Tuesday morning (May 14).

The shooting was reported at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of Clermont Street in Jefferson (map), according to a statement from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Three people were shot inside an apartment there, JPSO said. They were all taken to a hospital for treatment, where one of the men, 62, later died. His name has not been released.

Another man, 57, and a 55-year-old woman remained in the hospital as of 5 a.m., JPSO said. Their vitals were stable, authorities said, but they did not release any details about the severity of their injuries.

No information was immediately available about a possible motive or suspect. Authorities ask anyone with information about this crime to contact JPSO’s homicide division at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
